Type 'Atari Breakout' Into Google Image Search for a Cool Surprise

Google is celebrating the 37th birthday of Classic game Atari Breakout in its best possible way by turning the home page of Google Image Search in to Classic Game Mode.

Google provides anyone the ability to play this game online by making use of their Image Search Feature. It turned Google Image Search into a version of the game.

The search results will show up as usual, just wait for a few more seconds to have the game.
Search Results will be organized into a game that's very similar to the Basic Version of Breakout, which requires the player to demolish brick walls with a ball and they give you 4 points for every hit and you have 5 lives to score more.

The Classic Game Atari Breakout was created by Nolan Bushnell and Steve Bristow, the game debuted in 1976, and was based on the 1972 game, Pong. It was followed by several ports and sequels (Super Breakout came out a few years later), as well as countless variations of the game in later years.

A word of warning: Even in this simple state, Breakout is very addictive. We've already wasted way too much time playing it but I’m sure you will enjoy your time playing it.

What are your memories of Breakout? How much you have scored? Tell us in the comments, below.
